    Here is another one from my re-enactment days. Obviously in the the frontier area during the Revolutionary War people ate what they hunted. So rabbit would have been a regular fare for them. Again with just some simple salt and a placed on a spit over a fire. Turn every now and then to cook it all the way around. Not a lot of meat but the back strap on a rabbit done this way is simply mouth watering. Something about cooking over a fire. And taste wise it is a lot like chicken. Never tried it with squirrel as there were three of us to feed but imagine it would come out about the same just less meat.
