Howdy,
This is from my pop's kitchen, he taught me the way of the wild and I am a grateful man. This just just the easiest way to cook venison as a roast in a dutch oven. If you need to figure how to heat your oven see my thread on dutch oven math. This receipe is finger-licking good!
Ingredients:
1 can mushroom soup
1 can crushed tomatoes
1 pkg. dry onion soup mix
Salt & Pepper to taste
1/4 cup Cider Vinegar
3 to 4 pounds roast (use beef, pork, elk, deer, or moose.)
2 small cans green chilies
Directions:
Mix first five ingredients together in a 10 inch warmed and oiled Dutch Oven. Add roast and spoon mixture over it. Roast will be almost covered. Top with Chilies. Cover and bake in your oven at 300 degrees from 3 to 4 hours. So easy even a caveman can do it(heehee!).
