  • Baked Jalapenos

    Original Recipe
    25 medium jalapeno peppers
1 package (8 oz. size) cream cheese, softened
    3 cups shredded cheddar cheese
    1 1/4 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
4 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled

Cut jalapeno peppers in half lengthwise: remove seeds. Place peppers in boiling water for 5 minutes: drain well.

Combine cream cheese, cheddar cheese and Worcestershire sauce, stir well. Place one heaping teaspoon of cheese mixture on each pepper half.

Sprinkle with bacon and place on a baking sheet. Bake at 400F for 5 minutes or until cheese is melted.

    My mods.
You can mix al the ingredients together at home and just make a cheese ball. I also cut the tops off of the Jalapeno's and remove the seeds and insides. Then I stuff the cheese down inside the hollowed out peppers. I wrap a raw piece of bacon around the outside and just bake until the bacon is done. It helps if you have a pepper rack, if not you can stand them up with the toothpicks you use to hold the bacon on. I also add liquid smoke to the cheese mixture before mixing.
I made a batch 2 days ago and they are already gone.

And the finished product. Like I said, it works better with a pepper rack

        Here is my recipe!

        Camp Jalapeno Poppers

        Ingredients
        8 oz Cream Cheese
        1/4 cup Cilantro, chopped finely
        1/2 tsp Ground Cumin
        10 Medium Sized Jalapeño Peppers
1/4 cup Cheddar Cheese, finely grated

        Preparation Instructions

The beauty of my camp version of the traditional jalapeño poppers is all of the preparation can be done at home prior to your trip. To start, soften the cream cheese. Place the cream cheese inside a small glass or metal bowl nested within a larger bowl filled with hot water. The heat from the water helps to speed up the softening process.
