  • Green Bean Casserole

I'm going to try this recipe soon. Anyone else tried anything like this in a Dutch oven?

    Ingredients:

4 cups cooked French style green beans
1 can (10 oz) cream of mushroom soup
    1 cup milk
1 1/3 cups French fried onions
    1 cup chopped mushrooms
    Directions:

Place the mushroom soup, milk and pepper in a medium sized Dutch oven. Stir in beans, mushrooms and 2/3 cup of the fried onions. Reserve the rest for later. Bake with about 12 coals on top and 10 on the bottom for about 20 to 25 (baked at 350F). Then top with the remaining 2/3 cup fried onions and bake about 5 more minutes, until onions are lightly browned.

    Re: Green Bean Casserole

I can't say I have yet since I'm a perimeter shopper, I'd need to convert the recipe with that in mind. Does read tasty with nice texture changes incorporated w/i.

      Re: Green Bean Casserole

I have made green bean casserole in the dutch oven. I used my wifes reciepe. I also used a pie tin, because I wanted to make another dish in the dutch oven for desert.
