  • Your oldest piece of camping equipement?

    Howdy,
    As campers, everyone goes through a ton-of-gear 'fore it's all said an' done. So what is your oldest peice of equipement and if you care to share a story, do so? A photo would also be a nice iceing fer your time! Thanks in advance for sharin'!

    I still have and use a light-weight hatchet my Grandad in Indiana gave me when I was about 12 years old. I'm 52 now. We are both a little crusty and rusty, but we both still get the job done! :D

    It is good for light firewood, and has a hammer head opposite the blade, to pound in tent pegs. Very useful gadget. I have newer hatchets, but still tend to carry this one.

      The oldest piece of equipement I have is our 40x60' tarp which I always take(seldom use) to cover our entire camping space if it rains. It never seems to rain here much in the desert southwest.
