Hope y'all had a very happy Thanksgiving Day with your families.
I had dinner with my bestest buddy and his wife, and a couple other guests. Mary is a great cook. Keith has Ciliac Disease, so cannot tolerate anything with gluten (wheat, barley and a few other things), so Mary cooks gluten-free. And she's gotten GOOD at it! The dressing, the biscuits, the pie crusts - all was very good! Getting gluten-free pie crust to stay together is almost an art form though.
I brought some left-overs home, and will eat it again today!
After dinner, Keith and I went to his hunting lease property to try deer hunting - it was Opening Day of regular gun season.
Unfortunately, a family group (relatives of a lessee) were very nearby, whooping, hollering and shooting a .22 rifle - no self-respecting ungulate will stay around with that nonsense going on!
Did see a lot of fat squirrels, but I figured my deer rifle wouldn't leave enough of them to eat.......
So Bambi had a good Thanksgiving Day too. At least in our neck of the woods.
