Just as an example.........I have Les Stroud's (survivorman) book.
In it he explains several different ways to make fire..........I would be interested to try these out, just for experience sake.
He lists a fire bow, the typical bent stick with a cord rotating a stick on another flat piece.

and the fire piston.........just put a bit of dry tinder on the end of the piston and quickly push/pull it in the cylinder.....
