Hiking Boots

I'm looking to buy a good pair of hiking boots that will hopefuly last a couple seasons.I plan on wearing them in the rain as well as hiking in rough terrain. What type and brand do you trust the most ? I was thinking of going with Merrell or Danner.

Either of those brands, if properly cared for, will last you MANY seasons.
I have a pair of Georgia Boots workboots in all-leather, that are over ten years old, been through heck, and are still going strong!
You know to go with quality - stay away from the Chinese-made cheapies!
And remember to get a size larger than your normal size - your feet will swell as you hike. I wear size fourteen, and use size fifteen boots with good wool socks.
