  • Electric Question

When camping, I use only a standard outlet. This is usually 15 or 20 amp.

Some campgrounds only list 30 and 50 amp electrical which are different outlets.

Is there an adapter that can be used to get standard voltage/amps from the other types of connections?

    Re: Electric Question

You would only need a passive adapter to make the plug work. If you are worried, You could consider using a powerstrip or surge protector that had a built in breaker so you don't pull more power than your cord can handle.

All outlets in US campgrounds are 120 Volts (nominally.) The voltage is not a problem.

What you need is an adapter that has male 30 amp and standard household outlet on the other end.

      Like this one:

Your appliances will only pull the amount of current you are using, so no worries there.

Some campgrounds also have a 15 amp outlet on the same hookup post for the 30 amp or 50amp, but that may not be listed on their website or literature.
