    Howdy,

Camping is fun. With a little education your camping experience will be everything you dreamed it could be.

Here are a few tips to help you on your way.

    1. With a little pre-planning and some organization once you get to your site, you can avoid many mishaps or emergencies that could spoil your vacation.

    2. Making a list everything you will eat on the number of days you are away is often helpful.

    3. Prepare for rain by ensuring you have shelter, tarps and waterproof attire

    4. A shovel is among the most important tools to have in camp.

    5. Set up tents according to instruction.

    6. Don`t forget your binoculars for watching wildlife and your camera for capturing your memories and experiences.

    7. Often a game of Frisbee or football is an enjoyable way to spend an afternoon.

    8. Make sure you carry enough supplies with you in case of an accident.

    9. Survival and first aid kits are essential supplies for every camper.

    10. Useing citronella candles not only gives you light but will also help keep bugs away at night.

    11. For summer bring hats for protection, sunscreen and insect repellant.

    12. Of course, no camping trip is complete without making smores.

    13. Camping cookware, like any camping equipment, needs to be versatile and tough.

    14. Be sure you have plenty of water available to keep hydrated and to cook with.

    15. While most tents are not properly seam sealed and won't handle monsoon rains, however you can usually seal the seams of any three season tent the day you arrive and pitch your tent. It only takes 15 minutes or so to apply seam sealer to any tent as long as you set up camp on a sunny day. Or practice setting up your tent before you actually go camping to become used to setting it up and then seal those seams then.

    16. Use a tent that is water resistant, but also bring along a waterproof tarp to hang over the tent in case there is a lot of rain.

    17. Synthetic filled sleeping bagsare cheaper than goose down and retain their warmth in wet conditions.

    18. Adding a sleeping mat and sleeping pillow that are waterproof will enhance your comfort considerably.

    19. It`s good insurance to pack a sweatshirt and pants even if it is the middle of summer.

    20. If you are sleeping outdoors, make sure you have a good tent and sleeping bags as well as warm clothing and rain protection.

    21. Be sure to take along binoculars to help look for wildlife and nature.

    22. The most critical thing about car camping is planning.

These are just some ideas that we've kicked around and anyone may add to them. Please feel free. Comments are an acceptable practice here, thanks for looking.

I guss the takeaway message here is plan on bringing at least two pair of binoculars... :D
“People have such a love for the truth that when they happen to love something else, they want it to be the truth; and because they do not wish to be proven wrong, they refuse to be shown their mistake. And so, they end up hating the truth for the sake of the object which they have come to love instead of the truth.”
