Hello all, Newb here... I just bought a tent and I'm looking to maximize space. Is it ok to put sticky back Velcro on the inside of a tent for mesh shelving ? Or will water seep through in rain?

    Thanks for the help

      Re: Velcro

Sure it's ok, a person can do what they want. Personally I've never tried it. Most recent tents that I'm familiar with, maybe 30 or so, have pockets sewn into the fabric. Never thought about trying to make a shelf out of sticky-back Velcro. I'm sure you could give it a try but you might void the warranty? That's my $0.02, maybe others will chime in, just gotta give it some time. You are askin this during the peak camping season. Good luck, let us know what you do? It would be great to post up a couple of pics too! Who knows, maybe it'll be the start of a great invention.

Weight limit will be low. Also, if in high heat, the adhesive may soften...... A load would also encourage sag in the walls.

I personally would not try it.

I could use something like that next to the "bed". :D

Where did you get the shelving?

              Does it pack flat?

              What's it made of?

bought it on ebay it is called a camp closet.
It does fold flat thought it is a bit of a pain to assemble.
It is fabric over some stiff material.
here is a link on amazon:

I don't use it much because it is bulk to transport assembled.

There are no more of these to be had. They are sold out every where I look. :(

I have found a suitcase with shelves works better. Kind of like the old steamer trunks taken on ship voyages
