  • Power cord through tent door or window

Hello i am new to this forum ..:o

I have a tent that has no E-port to rum a power cord through like the new tents. I was thinking of running the outdoor rated power cord through one of the zipper windows on the tent and closing the zipper around the power cord and some how using foam around the cord on the inside and outside of the window to seal it up. Does anyone have any suggestion or do they make anything for sale to adapt this. Thanks you, Bobby :o

You could run the cord through the window or door as you propose. Skip the foam around the zipper idea, though. I assume you would do that to keep the rain or bugs out? If it rains, put the power cord outside the tent and go non-electric. With the rain that can accumulate inside a tent, I would not trust my life and health to the circuit breakers at a campgrounds.

Otherwise you might like to look at some of the tents that have flaps built into the tent to run cords. Get a sewing machine, some fabric, and modify your tent. It can be done and you will be proud.
