I am a Kayak Paddler for 3 yr's now. I am interested in purchasing my first tent. I would like it to be dual purpose, one for campsite camping for two to three days, and the other would be to throw it on my Kayak for extended paddles. I am looking at two person tents and have to set a Max budget of 300.00. I know there are a lot of tents out there in that price range, but having a personal endorsement I find is much better. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank You.

I haven't done any kayak camping but I have a couple of backpacking tents that I like and one that might work for you. I'm not current on what the latest greatest gear is but I have an REI Halfdome. It's a good 2 person tent (2 people can actually sleep in it without being terribly crowded) and it's not extremely heavy. Plus it's free standing. That's my .02. Hope it helps.
