Looking to tent camp for a vacation that includes visiting Cedar Point, kayaking (with children so not to adventurous just relaxing or a little exciting for them), would like to have electric to hook to. Reading up on sites so far, want advice on some good campgrounds to fit our needs, as well as where you would kayak. Need not be a tent only camp, just that we are tenting this trip.

Sorry, came across your missive a bit late (6/2/12).
East Harbour St. Park and Marblehead are beautiful.
At this point in time it is very VERY busy there.
This fall will be great.
Kayaking in Erie and fishing from the kayak spring and fall are great.
Have kayaked all Grear Lakes and Mackinaw straits.
If you have never done these waters. DO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
From Sandusky you may take Pelee Islander Ferry to Pelee Island or Leamington Ontario.
Holliday Harbour in Wheatly (east) of Leamington has a great beach (Lake Erie) front tenting site.
Wheatley is about 20 minutes east of Ferry landing. (Need passport card)!!!!. -

check out Kelly's Island State Park. You do have to take the ferry to get there.Comment
