  • Camping in Colorado Any Reccomendations

    Hi all,

My wife and I are going to go camping with my son in Colorado. My son is four and a half and we are car campers. Does abyone have any reccommendations for a place to camp between Denver and Colorado Springs. The only requirements are that we can have a campfire and that they have showers (my wife).

Here's a start my friend, it's been awhile since I've camped there. And there are a few campers here that are from there but I guess they are camping. Go figure!

This campground is by far one the nicest campground/RV parks I have ever stayed at. My family stays here every year one night while we pass through Colorado Springs on our way to the Gunnison National Forest. Garden of the Gods Campground is a full hook up campground with multiple shower houses, pool hall, video game arcade, swimming pool, and hot tub. Sort of a camper's resort. Very family friendly and always clean and well maintained facilities. Highly recommended. Maybe keep this in mind for next summer's trip.

Thanks Waterfowler, I will it looks like a fun place to stay. We stayed at the Lone Duck campground http://www.loneduckcamp.com/Pics.htm. We really enjoyed it and the hosts were excellent.

It was perfect for tent campers. I may try the other one with the RV. When we head up again. I would love to go up again this summer but the 8-10 hour drive with a six month old may be a little much.
